Mount wallplate for Wi-Fi thermostat:

• Mount your new wallplate using screws and anchors included with the thermostat
• Drill 3/16-in holes for drywall
• Drill 7/32-in holes for plaster
• Note: You may be able to use your existing wall anchors
• Hold the wallplate up to the existing anchors to check for alignment

Connect wires:

• Starting with the C Wire, match the sticky tag on the wire to the terminal labels
• Important! C wire is required and is the primary power source.
• Without a C wire, your thermostat will not power up.
• Loosen screw, insert wire on inside edge of terminal, then tighten screw.
• Verify wire is firmly secured by gently pulling on wire
• Repeat steps 1.7a–1.7c for all other wires
• Push any excess wire back into the wall opening after all wires are installed

Mounting:

• Place the actuator on the valve with the U-bolt around the valve collar
• Place the U-bolt against the valve collar and secure the actuator to the valve by turning each U-bolt nut clock-wise.
• Note: To assure even pressure on the collar, first tighten the nuts finger-tight and then alternate turning each U-bolt nut until both are snug.
• Push aside the stem button retaining clip and hold. See Fig.
• Lift valve stem until the head of the valve stem button is inside the large slot of the stem button retaining clip on the actuator.
• Release the stem button retaining clip to secure the stem button. Check to make certain the stem button is secured by the retaining clip.
• Remove the cover from the actuator using a Phillips or crosspoint screwdriver.

The automatic air vent comprises:

Function:

• Inside the automatic air vent there is a floater which operates a lever according to the water level.
• When there is no water in the housing, then the floater opens the valve.
• Air can therefore be vented from the heating system during filling.
• When the heating system has been filled, the inflowing water closes the valve and the vent is shut off.
• Water usually contains oxygen which bubbles off during operation of the system and collects at the highest point.
• The automatic air vent must therefore be fitted at the air collection position (highest point on a boiler or pipework circuit).
